Carolyn is overworked, overwhelmed, and over it. After a frustrating morning at work punctuated by a parade of political spam texts, she loses her cool and replies to one in a fury. Meet Eric, the volunteer text banker (and real human) on the other end of the thread who just wants to get her to the polls. Fate thrusts them together when they (literally) smash into each other and Carolyn picks up Eric’s dropped phone, realizing who he is. She spends her lunch break torturing him via iMessage with ludicrous political questions and comments. But, “nevertheless, he persisted”. And as he does, Carolyn finds herself charmed. All she wanted was revenge, but maybe now, she wants something more?
